Open note to Thom Hartmann - so glad you are reading here!

I was listening to your show today on my drive home from work (unfortunately, it is not live in Chapel Hill NC, so there was no way to call in to your "one minute sentence on Obama" segment...which I thought was brilliant). I listen to your show often - finding it relevant, mind-opening, and intelligent. It was great to hear you refer to the following post

in reference to your one minute call in segment. This indicates to me that we here in DU who may sometimes think we are preaching to the choir or are in our own little echo chamber to have vectors for which are voices, discussions, arguments and varied points (yes, we are a big messy tent!) can reach outward. Please keep reading. Oh yes - what did strike me about the call ins was the proportion of frustrated people to the number that are content with the way things are going - and I am sure that your listeners are far more tilted towards those who are Obama supporters. Really eye opening, that.

Note to DU - keep up the great discussions, great work - the dialog that goes on in here helps most of us gain deeper understandings of the issues, of each other, ability to vent, argue, yell, swear - whatever. I've found this a (mostly safe!) place to be since finding it in 2004.

Anyway, thanks Thom for poking your head in now and then....we are all in this together. And I agree - to get elected it is indeed important to stand for the things that people want. People need - crave - the change that Obama promised (even those who are too stubborn to realize that they do!).

I'm just curious (since obviously he didn't provide the link). Did he identify the poster and describe the post?

so he was interested in the two views (supportive/critical of Obama's progress) - he found the post very useful in setting up his segment. Was great stuff, actually - to me, as much giving this community wider publicity/exposure as much as the content (though a big time congrats to the two posters he referenced!)

I'd love to listen to it!

He knows his stuff and takes on Freeperzoids like a well-balanced cat toying with a drunken, cross-eyed rat. If he's checking out DU, that's hella kewl!

IT's tough but there are always gems to be found here at DU once you get past the local weather reports, the posts about pets dying, your favorite TV shows and all the other lounge stuff that clogs up GD & GDP.

My favorite liberal host. Good sense of humor, exceedingly well read and passionate without sounding mean. (I don't mind a little anger though, as I listen to Malloy too.)
